ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description
As Engagement & Communication Specialist, you will join the Policy, Communication & Stakeholder Management Section and help shape how ENTSO-E communicates with its stakeholders and broader audiences. By working closely with subject matter experts across the organisation, you will translate complex topics into clear and engaging narratives, ensure alignment of key messages, and support communication activities linked to stakeholder engagement, media relations, governance processes, and external representation.
You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, reporting to the Communications Manager.
This role is offered on a fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. The contract is expected to start as soon as possible and run for an initial period of 6 months, with a potential extension.
Your responsibilities
Your tasks will vary depending on project priorities and may include, but are not limited to:
Develop and deliver high-quality communication and engagement materials that support ENTSO-E's strategic objectives, external representation and stakeholder outreach.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of communication campaigns, editorial activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Draft, review and coordinate a wide range of communication content, including news articles, presentations, briefings, speeches, press materials and social media content.
Translate complex policy and technical topics into clear, compelling and audience-focused messages for a variety of stakeholders.
Support the development of communication and engagement plans for key ENTSO-E initiatives, publications, events and external activities.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Secretariat to identify communication opportunities, align key messages and ensure a coherent narrative.
Prepare communication materials and briefing packages to support senior management, experts and spokespersons in external events and engagements.
Maintain the central repository of key messages, communication materials, position summaries and expert content across relevant topics.
Ensure the consistency, quality and accessibility of communication materials and supporting documentation across the organisation.
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or a related field.
Proven experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs or a similar role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong copywriting skills and ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging and audience-focused content.
Experience developing communication materials for diverse audiences, including presentations, briefings, articles and social media content.
Experience supporting communication activities for events, conferences or stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Familiarity with media relations, public affairs or advocacy communications.
Experience in a membership association, EU institution or international environment is considered as a plus.
Experience and knowledge of the EU energy sector and topics considered a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, effectively managing complex priorities and tight deadlines.
Strong organisational skills with the motivation to thrive in a multinational and multicultural environment.
