ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description
As Operations Senior Specialist, you will support and coordinate activities primarily under the System Operations Committee (SOC).
You will play a key role in ensuring strong coordination across technical projects and working groups, combining strong project management, stakeholder coordination, and solid technical expertise in system operations.
A key dimension of the role is the ability to operate effectively in complex and high-pressure environments, including during critical system events, where coordination, structure, and clear communication are essential.
You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, collaborating closely with internal teams, TSOs, and external stakeholders. Occasional travel may be required.
Your responsibilities
Your tasks will vary depending on project priorities and may include, but are not limited to:
Supporting implementation of activities related to System Operation Guidelines, Emergency & Restoration Network Code, and the Clean Energy Package
Coordinating the work of the Steering Group Resilient Operations or other entities under SOC, including subgroups, task forces and project teams
Providing guidance on technical topics such as frequency quality, voltage management, system stability, resilience and system modelling
Oversee projects including planning, resource allocation, risk management and reporting
Leading coordination and follow-up in case of grid incidents or blackout situations, ensuring structured and timely response
Facilitating responses to TSOs’ queries and promoting initiatives that benefit members
Coordinating cooperation with key external stakeholders (e.g. European Commission, ACER, Electricity Coordination Group, stakeholder associations and third-country TSOs)
Ensuring transparent information exchange and alignment across stakeholders
Developing, improving and following up on processes to enhance efficiency and coordination
Collaborating across Secretariat sections to drive continuous improvement
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:
Master’s degree, preferably in Power Engineering, with 6-8 years of professional experience in relevant field
Strong experience in project management in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Solid understanding of system operations and related regulatory frameworks
Ability to work effectively under pressure, including in crisis or incident situations
Proven ability to manage complex stakeholders and facilitate alignment
Conflict resilience and ability to navigate sensitive situations
Structured, proactive and solution-oriented approach
Knowledge of data analytics tools and methods
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and MS Project), experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python or similar is an asset
