Internship on ERAA Methodology
About ENTSO-E
ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.
We are a dynamic European association working on important and exciting projects of the electricity sector with the commitment to support the efforts towards a carbon-neutral power system. At ENTSO-E, you will contribute to building the world’s largest integrated electricity market – impacting not only those in the energy sector but also Europe’s overall economy, today and in the future!
Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive student to join us as an intern for a six-month period. During the internship you will contribute to support the ERAA Methodology and modelling work, with a focus on the with-CM variant.
As part of the ongoing development and application of the ERAA methodology, ENTSO‑E assesses resource adequacy under different market and policy assumptions. One important methodological component is the “with Capacity Mechanisms (with‑CM) variant,” which explicitly represents the impact of capacity mechanisms on investment incentives, available capacity, and generation unit revenues. Capacity mechanisms are policy instruments implemented in some European countries to ensure security of supply by providing additional remuneration to generation or other capacity providers. The with‑CM variant of ERAA aims to reflect these mechanisms consistently across countries and scenarios, allowing a more realistic assessment of generation availability, profitability, and long‑term adequacy outcomes.
This internship provides enhanced training and opportunities to experience working in the System Development section of ENTSO-E Secretariat, and with international exposure.
Your responsibilities
With a supervision of a manager:
Supporting the representation and analysis of capacity mechanisms within the ERAA framework.
Performing economic analyses related to generation units and adequacy outcomes.
Assessing generation unit profitability and revenues, including energy market and capacity-related income streams.

Contributing to methodological documentation and internal discussions.
Collaborating with colleagues across ENTSO‑E and with experts from diverse technical and national backgrounds.
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:
